Lies Lovers Tell


1.    I love you.  Three little words that can make life worth living when meant; three daggers to the heart when said as a lie.  Too often these words are said by a guy to get a girl in bed.  Real love is proven with actions over time.  If said too quickly they lose all meaning.
2.    If you love me you will sleep with me.  The statement should be: If you love me you will wait until I’m ready to have sex.  Just because you love someone doesn’t entitle them to your body.
3.    I’m/you’re on the pill, you/I don’t need a condom.  If the girl is on the pill you have to remember no contraceptive is 100% effective and even if the girl doesn’t get pregnant the pill doesn’t protect against HIV and other venereal diseases.  If the girl is not on the pill then you should plan on buying diapers in about 9 months, and have the doctors check both of you for STDs.
4.    I’ll Pull Out.  There are a lot of people walking around today because of that lie.  When a guy is about to come the last thing he is thinking is “pull out”, in fact he isn’t thinking at all.
5.    I’ll die if I don’t have sex.  Girls no man in the history of the world has died of blue balls.  I’m not saying it isn’t comfortable, it hurts, but then that is why God gave them two hands.  They can take care of it themselves.
6.    You can’t get pregnant the first time.  Oh yes you can.  If the girl is ovulating or near ovulation she can get pregnant.  Sperm can survive for up to 5 days inside a female.
7.    You can’t get pregnant when you are on your period.  Given the fact that sperm can live up to five days inside a female and that women differ as to when they ovulate, yes a woman can get pregnant while she is having her menses.
8.    You didn’t bleed so you weren’t a virgin.  The hymen can be broken in many ways, horse riding, bicycle riding, sports, etc. 
9.    I won’t tell anyone.  If you are concerned that someone else will find out, then you are not ready to be in a sexual relationship.  Both girls and guys like to tell their best friends everything.  Benjamin Franklin once said “three can keep a secret, if two of them are dead”. 
10. I’ll break up with him/her when it is the right time.  People like eating their cake and having it at the same time.  Many excuses have been told as to why they can’t “break up” with their current partner just now.  But the important question that should be asked is “if they are willing to cheat on their current partner, what makes you think they won’t cheat on you?”

Spaghetti for Christmas (recipe)

I grew up in a typical small town that through my growing up years had a population between 5-10 thousand.  If you didn’t know everyone’s name it was still likely that you would know of the family.  My neighborhood consisted of ranch style houses sitting on ⅙ of an acre plot.  When I was very young we, my mom’s sister’s family and Mom’s parents all lived within 2-3 blocks of each other.  Most holidays would find us at my Grandparents house.  That would be 6 adults and five kids in a house with 1 bathroom and only 900 sq feet of space.   Across the street from my Grandparents lived a very nice family of Italian descent.  The father of the house was a postman and had white (grey) hair, but everyone called him Red (rumor had it that when he was younger he had red hair).  The mother, Dolores, was a small compact woman with a smile that made you feel as if you were home.  Mom once told me that when she was little she would go over to their house to watch TV.  To my young mind, it was diffic

Who’s Who of Indian Relatives

Above please find a chart that explains family relationships in a simple manner (HIndi).  I copied this from Wikipedia.  I tried to find the creator, but was unable.  If someone knows the creator please let me know.  When I first met my relatives it became important to know who was who and more importantly where they fit in the family hierarchy.  In the west all parent siblings are aunt and uncle or all parents of parents are grandparents, grandparents’ siblings are great aunt or great uncle, children of parents’ siblings are cousins whether male or female.  In Indian culture it is not only important to know the gender, but to know whether this person is related to you by Mother, Father, Brother, Sister, or Son or Daughter.   At first to a Westerner it sounds complicated, but once learned it allows relations to make sense.    The first thing one needs to remember is that traditionally Indians had a joint family system.  The wife would move into her husband’s home.  Second thing to reme
